What is your approach to senior portraits?
Senior portraits with me are about more than just a photo for the yearbook. I focus on capturing personality, confidence, and who your senior is in this season of life. The experience is guided but relaxed, allowing space for natural expressions while still creating intentional portraits you’ll want to keep long after graduation.
I’m awkward in front of the camera. Is that a problem?
Not at all! and honestly, most seniors feel this way at first. You don’t need to know how to pose or “perform.” I guide you through movement and prompts that feel natural, helping you settle in so your expressions feel real instead of forced. Confidence grows during the session, not before it.
Do you give direction or is everything candid?
It’s a balance of both. I give clear guidance so you never feel unsure, but I also leave room for moments to unfold naturally. This approach allows us to create portraits that feel polished and genuine, without looking stiff or overly posed.
What should I wear for my senior portrait session?
I help with outfit guidance so clothing feels like you and photographs well. Neutral tones, layers, and pieces that allow movement tend to work beautifully. The goal isn’t trends — it’s choosing outfits that feel comfortable and timeless so your photos still feel right years from now.
Where do senior portrait sessions take place?
Senior sessions can take place:
In my studio for a clean, minimal look
Outdoors at thoughtfully chosen Columbus-area locations
At a location that feels meaningful to you
Each setting creates a different feel, and we choose what best fits your personality and vision.
How long does a senior portrait session last?
Sessions are paced to allow you time to relax and ease into the experience. There’s no rushing — we move with intention so expressions feel natural and you don’t feel overwhelmed.
Can parents or siblings be involved?
Parents are always welcome, and siblings can be included if desired. BFFs are also welcome! I keep the focus on the senior while still making space for connection and support throughout the session.
What if I don’t love every photo of myself?
You don’t have to love every frame, and that’s okay. My job is to deliver a thoughtful, curated gallery that highlights your best expressions and moments. Many seniors are surprised by how much they love their images once they see themselves through a calm, intentional lens.
Are senior portraits still important if we just need one photo?
Senior portraits are a way to pause and document who your senior is right now — before everything changes. While one image may be needed for school, these photos often become keepsakes for both the senior and their family over time.
When is the best time to book senior portraits?
Most seniors book their session during junior year or early senior year to allow flexibility with seasons and locations. Booking earlier also gives more options for timing and setting.
How would you describe the overall experience?
Supportive, intentional, and never rushed. My goal is for seniors to feel seen, comfortable, and confident — and for parents to walk away knowing this chapter was documented with care.
